Snickery Squares - Tuesdays with Dorie
Made my Snickery Squares tonight. They were such fun - I have never caramelized anything before so have learned another baking skill. The squares came out very well and are now sitting waiting to be photographed. One thing I might change if I make them again (depends on the reviews I get at a potluck Wednesday night) - I would use semi-sweet chocolate rather than bitter-sweet. The peanuts didn't turn white when I dunked them in the boiling sugar, but they tasted good anyhow - like the roasted nuts that the street vendors sell in New York. Looking forward to the apple cake for next week.
